My passion is not only to support the workplace and those going through menopause, but to also support the supporters out there. I provide my practical tips to reassure them, but over the upcoming weeks, I will be providing you with the answers from a different lens. "What can I do to support?" Is often what they want to know. You may be surprised to hear that I get asked question after question from partners who are supporting a loved one at home. The impact menopause can have on a relationship should not be underestimated and if you have attended one of my workplace talks, you will know that I always pull between that work and home life. When an 'unknown' premature menopause impacted our marriage, it was not so easy to do so.īecause we weren't expecting it, we didn't understand it, we didn't know how to manage it and we existed many many years, in an unknown. However, through all of these changes, we were able to (most of the time) understand each other, provide support when it was needed and work together to come out the other side. ![]() Over the years there have been many milestones from the gift of children (and the pressures they bring!) to the career changes, house move and heartbreaking grief. Life changes, we change and marriage is an ongoing work in progress. When this photo was taken, we would have confidently said marriage was easy. Overall, this is a fascinating debate and do book on and have your say! #law #society #lawreform #stepmanchester By keeping their existing wills, they can ensure that their wishes are honored. For example, if one or both partners have children from a previous marriage, they may want to ensure that their assets are distributed in a way that protects those children's interests. The rationale for this change is that individuals should have the freedom to choose how they want their assets to be distributed, even after they enter into a marriage and I believe that the laws of England and Wales should follow suit.Īdditionally, there are situations where individuals may want to keep their existing wills even after they get married. However, today, many jurisdictions have changed their laws to allow for wills to remain valid after marriage. As a result, many legal systems automatically revoked any existing wills upon marriage, forcing individuals to create new ones (if they had the knowledge or time to do so!). Historically, marriage was seen as a major life event that would naturally require individuals to reassess and update their estate planning documents, including their wills. Marriage can have significant legal implications, including impacts on estate planning and inheritance. I have acted for a vast number of families over decades who have been negatively affected by the existing laws - particularly, where the person writing his or her Will had no idea that their Will wasn’t valid after a subsequent marriage. My personal view is that the law does need to change in this regard. Be sure to check for updates to both programs if you’re having trouble using a Photoshop brush in FireAlpaca. My colleague Nicola Walker TEP, Chair of Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, Manchester invites all private client professionals to have their say about whether or not marriage should automatically revoke a Will. However, there may be some slight differences in how the brush behaves.Īdditionally, FireAlpaca has its own set of built-in brushes which may work better than Photoshop brushes. Yes, you can use Photoshop brushes in FireAlpaca. So, if you’re having trouble using a Photoshop brush in FireAlpaca, be sure to check for updates to both programs. As new versions are released, more compatibility issues may arise. Third, keep in mind that both Photoshop and FireAlpaca are constantly being updated. If you’re having trouble getting a Photoshop brush to work well in FireAlpaca, try using one of the built-in brushes instead. These brushes are designed specifically for use with FireAlpaca and may work better than Photoshop brushes. Second, FireAlpaca has its own set of built-in brushes. While some users have reported that it works, others have had issues with the brushes not working correctly. PRO TIP: Do not use Photoshop brushes in FireAlpaca. ![]()
